Happy Friday friends. What a week this has been – let’s get right to it.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you I’ve had kind of a crappy couple of reading weeks. I had a DNF.
Saffron Nights by Liz Everly. See here’s the thing with DNFs for me. They make me feel like I’ve failed some how as a reader. The rational side of me knows that’s insane but the emotional side of me knows Ms. Everly worked really hard on that book and I feel bad for not finishing it. I tried, really I did but I could’t get past the 40% mark. The highly educated people in this book did some really stupid shit. You’re traveling around from odd country to odd country and your apartment and/or hotel room is broken into, twice, and you are beaten up but still you think it’s all a coincidence? Seriously? So you, a woman, go out to a secluded beach while all this crazy shit is going on and you take a nap? What is this, the prequel for some slasher movie? Who does that? The straw that broke this camel’s back was during a dinner scene. Several people were having a conversation, all had been introduced and everyone was in on the dialogue BUT when the sex times happen abruptly, two people I’m fairly certain weren’t there when dinner started are at the ready for some boning. Where did they come from? Am I hallucinating? Was there some rabbit hole I just fell down? Sadly, at this point I was kinda’ pulling for the bad guy. I just couldn’t feel the love for any of the characters…except maybe the dead chef, he seemed very interesting but, he’s dead…DNFing this book makes me doubly sad because it incorporates several things I love, sex, aphrodisiacs and food – oh and what looked like a good mystery. Well, it’s still a mystery to me.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you how my seriously shitty reading streak turned into something seriously awesome when something landed in my in box that made me do a big fucking happy dance. I’m not being a big fat tease and I’d share it with you if I could but I promised and a Scandal is only as good as her word so just know, it’s awesome and as soon as I can, I’ll happy dance with you. Honestly, it couldn’t have come at a better time, I was in a major reading slump so thank you sweet book fairies for rocking my world. You guys are going to love it…gobble it up, swallow it down whole!
If we were having coffee, I’d slip my boots off to show you the awesome color I got on my toes yesterday.
I found this color last year on a site called Saffron Rouge and it’s called…wait for it…wait for it…BADASS!!! How fucking awesome is that?!!? Told you guys I’m a cosmetics junkie…stick with me kids, I’ve got a million of these sites to share!
If we were having coffee I probably would’ve lead off with, “where’s your fucking Nancy Drew hat and notebook bitch?” Did you read it? Rebecca’s Lost Journals: The Seduction? What did you think? Did you take notes? Who is the Man? Is it Mark? Chris? Ricco? Josh? Or have we not met him yet? If you’ve not read the book STOP READING NOW…SPOILERS AHEAD…NO JOKE, I’M NOT FUCKING AROUND, IF YOU KEEP READING YOU MIGHT SEE THINGS YOU CAN’T UNSEE.
Of course the obvious suspect is Mark, right? Mark only shares on his terms so I’m wondering if Mark was indeed her first encounter and then he shared her with someone…just like I think Mark and Ricco share Ava…oh yeah, I went there with Ava. And did you notice Ava was wearing red a lot? Look at the cover, it’s red…does that mean anything? But maybe Ricco has Rebecca now? Or maybe Josh, the persistent banker dude with mad tongue skills got tired of waiting around on Rebecca and took things into his own hands…then I thought no on the Josh feeling. The rose colored ring made me suspect Chris but then I went back to Ricco. She seems to build a relationship with Ricco…I keep going back to Ricco so for this week, I’m calling Ricco the Master. What do you think? I also think we might get a taste of someone new in the next selection of journal entries. What do you think about that? Is Lisa Renee Jones going to pull a sneaky on us? Slowly peel back the layers, just show us a little tease like one of those old school feather dancers? Rebecca’s Lost Journals, part 2: The Contract comes out February 18th. Keep your Nancy Drew paraphernalia handy – I’m certain it will the loaded with clues, too.
If we were having coffee I’d remind you guys about the Wicked Girls Orlando Book Weekend, February 15-18. Ana from Ana’s Attic is pulling this together. There is a very impressive list of authors scheduled to attend: Tara Sivec, Raine Miller, CC Wood, Colleen Hoover, Katja Millay, Abbi Glines, Luke Young, RK Lilley, Rachael Wade, Tiffany King, Katie Ashley, Jasinda Wilder and more. Plus, and I know this is what gets your motor running…I’ll be there in all my Scandalicious glory, completely unmasked, no black bar covering my eyes or anything! And Kerry and Ana both need to understand…my ass is off limits…not just a hard limit – off limits. Other bloggers who’ll be hanging out are Talk Supe, Literati Literature, Book Crack, Autumn Review, Smut Book Club and more. Fun, right…well, it’s all fun and games until someone tries to cross the line with my ass…just saying. There will be a luncheon on Saturday for autographs and general silliness with all your favorite authors and we staying at the Westgate Lakes Resort in Orlando, Florida. Follow that link up there for more information.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you I’m reading Kristen Ashley’s Golden Dynasty this weekend and then I’m finishing out the series with Fantastical. I’m hoping we’ll get book #4 later this year because I am loving this magical, paranormal, mystical romance tale KA is weaving for me.
If we were having coffee I’d also tell you that my stop on Ella Frank’s Entice Blog Tour is coming up on Wednesday. She sent over her guest post last night and it is spectacular and super sexy…I think you’ll love getting inside Ella’s head for a while. And I’ll be giving away a double whammy, Exquisite and Entice so if you’ve not read them…now’s your time.
If we were having coffee, I’d ask you what your favorite mani/pedi colors are. Don’t you love nail polish names? Like I said earlier, I’m partial to BADASS because, well, it’s fucking BADASS!! I’d also ask what your plans are this weekend? Gearing up for Valentine’s Day? What’cha reading? Cooking anything fun? I love a good recipe. Whatever you find yourself doing, do it with gusto. Oh, and do something sexy naughty…that’s always fun. Happy reading friends and have a great weekend! Smooches

Good morning. Love kicking back with a big ol cup of strong coffee and reading through our Friday morning talk time. Is that too presumptious to call it ours? I think not…
Anyway, I’ll be holed up on my couch this weekend reading some more IAD that you have me addicted to and packing for our move in May. I finished the Entice (tore through that shit) and I’m am jonesing for Edible. I have to get the journals, I haven’t bought those yet. I may download a ton of music I need for iPod this weekend. I’m addicted to Altj, The Kills, Django Django and the new Neon Trees right now. I also have a Sephora giftcard burning a hole in my pocket so I’ll probably be buying some new hotness this weekend too.
I love to get mani/pedi’s but usually don’t have time for them, so I just cover my feet with kick ass shoes. But when I do get mine done, I usually go with a high gloss black, purple or blue of some shade, depending on my mood.
I’m hoping that the new exciting news you have for us soon is the review of Raiden!!
Sorry for the delay in responding…went to get my hair done – Kristen Ashley is right – a great stylist is worth the small fortune you’ll pay for her!
I need to check out that music…we are HUGE music fans around here…it’s always on and I mean ALWAYS
I love dark colors on my fingers and toes – they feel sexy to me…as for Raiden, just know he’s totally worth the hype…how’s that for now?
That’s wonderfully vague and intriguing at the same time. Impressive…
that’s how i roll baby…i am the epitome of wonderfully vague and impressively intriguing! True story.
Good morning! Well it’s still dark outside and I couldn’t sleep so why not get up and have a good virtual coffee chat with you ☺
I have only been immersed into the romance/erotica genre for about 7 months now so my encounter with DNF’s have been very few except for one, which I think I mentioned before. It’s an unending series by Kelly Favor; I think the first book is called for “His Pleasure”. The author decided to release a couple of chapters to the book every 3-4 weeks and would end each chapter at a supposed cliffhanger. Girl! This series made me SO MAD for so many reasons, the writing style of the author was juvenile, the character development from introduction to let us start having a BDSM relationship happened so fast I thought I got whiplash and I could go on. But what ended up making me put a nail in it was when she decided to introduce new characters in the sixth release. I had to “DNF THAT SHIT”. Maybe when I have nothing to read and I am really BORED I may try and pick it up and finish it. But for now there are so many great reads, it is on the back shelf for now.
As for the “The seduction”, you seem to have many of the same thoughts I do. I don’t think Mark is her first encounter but I do think she gets loaned out to him and I honestly think the master is someone we haven’t been introduced to yet. I think she cold have been loaned out to a few of the men mention in the book. To many choices Scandal my head is spinning.
I really wish I could make it down for this Wicked Girl Weekend, it sounds like so much fun. Especially the sex store excursion…so much fun! I know your butt is off limits Scandal but just hear what they have to say about the ass toys/ass play. You may be intrigued! Chalk it up to research and ideas for your many stories written in your journals ☺.
As for this weekend, I plan on tackling some short reads by Cassia Leo, both her Luke and Chase Series. Some Ella Frank too (Exquisite and Entice are burning holes in my ereader…lol!). I am probably getting a mani/pedi with my dear friend Tania. I’m still rocking a great gun-metal gray shellac from a couple of weeks ago (sorry, no fancy name for the polish). And Finally, I am baking a pumpkin spice cake that has a really good cream cheese icing, which is later topped with shaved white chocolate. My friends refer to it as CRACK CAKE…hehe! Have a good weekend!
P/s I always do something naughty…I don’t think I can stop being naughty…Naughty could be my middle name ☺.
We need more info Lola…to solve this bitch we need more!!! Ricco is involved somehow, I just feel it in my bones.
Wish you could make the weekend, too. As for the sex store, I’m not nearly as uptight as I’m playing it up as…I just fear with these girls if I give them an inch they’ll take a….big honkin’ dildo mile!!
I have the gun-metal gray shellac on my nails now too…I love that color, it’s my jam!!! And that pumpkin spice CRACK Cake sounds delicious…I might need to get that recipe from you if you’re willing to share!
I can always count on you for naughty – I never have to worry about that with you.
The hair looks gorgeous girl! Tania thinks I have a girl crush on you…I think I do too. That’s right I said it, I am comfortable enough in my sexuality to admit it. I will always love the men but it’s alright to have a girl crush
.
I know we need more information…I feel more of Mark’s involvement than Ricco’s, also I believe there is still a mystery character. I have to go back and read the journal entries. Funny, the journal entries are written in sequential order but there are gaps in some spots, I feel she meets her master in one of those gaps…it is driving me crazy!
I love to share. Here it is if anyone else is interested:
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup solid pack pumpkin puree
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (I like may cake spice so I usually add more)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
250 g cream cheese
1 cup of icing sugar
1 cup whipped cream
Bernard Callabeut white chocolate (or any white chocolate will do)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, and baking soda; set aside. In a large bowl beat the eggs, oil and sugar together until smooth. Stir in the pumpkin, then the dry ingredients.
3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cake to cool before icing.
4. Mix icing sugar, whipped cream vanilla extract and cream cream cheese all together in a bowl. Spread over cake and shred white chocolate over icing.
Happy eats!
Ok you need to Australianise this for me….what is solid pack pumpkin puree( just pumpkin puree well packed into yr measuring cup?) and pumpkin pie spice?
sounds Yum, Lola!
Your translation/conversion is exactly right for the pumpkin puree Teena
. Pumpkin spice is an equal mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice or cloves and ginger. Here in Canada/US you can purchase the spice already mixed. But if it isn’t available in Australia, then equal parts of the spices will do.
Oh Lola – you say the sweetest things…crush on girl, it’s mutual! (in a non girl on girl way of course since i don’t swing that way and MY GUY and I do not share!)
I’m hoping things will be explained a little more in The Contract but I fear she’s going to leave us with even more questions…the wench!
Just printed out the cake recipe – going to the grocery story today so that deliciousness will be on my kitchen counter this evening…I’ll take a picture and share it with you!
I have the same exact feelings regarding DNF’s. Luckily, I have declared 2013 as the year I get over my guilt. I just can’t handle the suck anymore. I say that will all due respect for any and all authors, I really do. Reading is entirely subjective and a personal preference. That’s why all those stores make all those hideous cloths that tons of other people think look good and I’m like gross, but whatever. Same thing.
VDAY! I’ve told the husband to not screw it up if he wants me to reciprocate
. Oh and I bought this beaut for myself. http://www.gorjana-griffin.com/gorjana/catalog/product/view/id/1089/s/taner-bar-small-necklace/category/21/?85=426#85=426
Isn’t she pretty? I’m a huge fan of the “delicate” necklace. I got 30% off with an online coupon if you fancy this for yourself. Happy Friday Ladies!
http://www.gorjana-griffin.com/gorjana/featured/press/celebrity/kristin-cavallari.html
Love your DNF philosophy Whitney, and since I can no longer handle the suck, I’m kicking the guilt to the curb.
Also, love, LOVE the necklace, she is beautiful, I’m a huge fan of delicate necklaces – I also love to wear a ton of chunky bracelets on one arm and one simple delicate one on the other…thanks for the coupon – I might need to add to my collection. Enjoy your Friday, hopefully inspiration will hit me in the shower again this weekend and the book will continue moving forward…Saturday shower time seems to be my magic spot for thinking!
Happy weekend!
My in-laws own a nail salon (yeah, they’re Asian. No jokes, people!) so I get the full princess treatment at the nail salon, with the added benefit of knowing that no one is making cracks about my feet. I cannot paint my nails because of work (French Tips Only! Fucking lawyers….), so I go full on with the designs and the sparklys on my feet. Their nail artist likes to try new designs out on me, and I am such the willing guinea pig. Right now mine are lavender with purple flowers and black whirlys. MAC’s Dark Angel is my favorite shade right now, but that’ll change when the weather warms up.
I was so excited when Enticed was released on the 29th. I finished it in just under three hours and it was awesome. Cannot wait for Cole’s book. I kind of get the impression that there might be some B&D. I will be very interested to see how Ella handles this.
I only DNFed (at 40%) one book this week, Pole Dance by JA Hornbuckle, and I may go back to it. It pissed me off in its fairly blatant similarity to KA. It’s not a BAD book, per se, but it’s a knock-off for DAMN SURE.
I am rereading Golden Dynasty as we speak. All this talk about it (and my recent book slump) has me going back to my KA stack. I have decided that I am a masochist. I FREQUENTLY go back through her books and reread the sad scenes. Case in point–Wednesday night I reread the scene in The Gamble when Nina left, the scene in Breathe where Faye flies off the handle at Chase, the scene in Mystery Man where Hawk tells Gwen he cannot do it, and the SCENES (shouty capitals) in Game of Hearts where Mike acts like a jackass. Maybe it’s hormonal?
I’ve read the working chapters for Raid 4,656 times (small exaggeration). Seriously, I have them saved to my desktop and I pull them up when I’m feeling pissy.
I have to make 144 ducky cupcakes for a baby shower this weekend (this bitch is treating this shower like a second wedding, I swear). I am gonna get sore wrists with no added benefit…..
Hope you love Golden Dynasty! It’s great, but the last one is my favorite.
You’re not a masochist, I do the same thing! You know when you get that really tight feeling in your chest when you read one of those gut wrenching scenes…. I’m addicted.
I liked Golden Dynasty, there are just parts of it I do not like. I think I understand where KA was going with it but it’s still a tough one for me. My husband and I debated the premise for this book all the way to work this morning (2 hour commute, it was a long debate). We need to get all of us together to talk about this one I think. Maybe it’s just me…
I love that you can talk about books with your husband. My hubby has NO interest WHATSOEVER in what I’m reading. Other than the Amazon charges on our spending report….
TWO HOUR COMMUTE?? Holy crap. I live thirty miles from work and it only takes me 25 minutes to get there.
I am glad it’s not just me. Really, that pain in your chest is addictive. In the best way, of course.
GD is a hard read. Just the subject matter was tough, but there’s also the fact that every time Lahn made me like him he fucked up again. And again. And again.
I feel the same way about GD. I think I might re-read Fantasyland when I am done with Consequences and Truth…I will need something I love. I feel the same way about Tony in Consequences…he fucks up every time I start to love him. I didn’t think he was redeemable the last time he fucked up but I am finding myself loving him again in Truth!
Oh! And I also love to re-read those parts of KA’s books. I love those parts. Also when Joe goes to Violet when she finds out her bro died.
OMG, that scene with Joe and Vi, kills me every time!
We TOTALLY need to get together Petra! That would be so much fun…we could have a real coffee date…wine date what have you!!
I tell my guy about our books all the time…he tries so hard to pretend to care – but we do actually discuss a lot of the deeper shit that goes on in many of the books, the relationships and shit…he’s always good for a chat about that, especially if he thinks it’ll get him laid (I’m so easy with him by the way, he gets it a lot!)
Roy and I love to debate books and will spend hours and days discussing plots, background, whatever! He’s very comfortable talking about books with me. In fact, he used to read erotica to me when we went on long car trips. The first one I can remember is the book Love in Vein. Fun, naughty and makes the car trips just fly by, but not in a bad way.
Scandal, you need to come to Ohio! It’s cold but I think we can get some wine (or scotch) that will warm us up and we’ll tear this town up! Let me know when the next book weekend is and I’ll try to make that one.
Sounds like a plan Petra! Next time I’m in your area I’ll hit you up! I’m in North Carolina for now so if you find yourself down this way you’d better let me know!!
I started GD while at the hair salon…and as expected, I’m loving it…so far everything has been handled as delicately as possible…I mean, it’s a pretty brutal land – no rainbows and unicorns up in that bitch, right?!!?
And I totally re-read the mushy and/or difficult parts all the time! My Guy laughs at how I love to make myself cry over that stuff…I think because I don’t let myself cry that much in real life circumstances…getting emotional with a book feels safe for me and it’s a release…or maybe I’m a masochist, too!! Either way, it works so rock on!!
I’m really excited about Edible…I think Ella will handle the B&D just fine…you know she’s got an erotic book coming out soon, Blind Obsession which I’m crazy excited about. I enjoy her writing style.
Have fun with those cupcakes, you are a great friend to do that shit!!
Uhhh…no. I charge $3 per cupcake. I am not doing it to be friendly. Hate is a strong word, but I SERIOUSLY dislike this bitch.
AHHH! Cupcakes made with love….
I can think of other things to put in them….. She has to have twelve different flavors.
ahhhh, that’s the Linnik I know and love! Phew, I feel much better now
The “no extra benefit” portion of my statement was an attempt at a sexual joke, which either fell flat or was so unexpected coming from my prudish ass that you overlooked it….
I caught your sex joke…I was just so floored my foul mouthed prudish Linnik said it so I didn’t know how to respond!!!
Hope you aren’t in duckie hell this morning!!
I wouldn’t worry about any DNF. You did not fail, nor did the author fail…it just means not every book is for every reader. If you remember I was reading JR Ward’s BDB…well I stopped during Tor’s book. I DO plan on finishing but I should’ve taken the break I needed from those books back after V’s book. By the time I was reading Tor’s book I just could not get into it. I will pick it up again closer to the new release.
I have been having a pretty good reading streak. I started “Consequences” and am now reading “Truth”. HOLY FUCKING SHIT are these books good. GAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Seriously, get on those bitches! Why do I love the villain? Why am I rooting for the villain? Who am I? Am I crazy? Do I have stockholm syndrome? And I saw on the author’s twitter profile the 3rd book is not due until 2014?
I cannot put these books down. The only reason I am writing this is because I haven’t picked them up yet today. I had to be at my kid’s school all morning. I am seriously going crazy… I saw an interview with the author on another blog where she said she had Joe Mangiello in her mind as Tony…someone suggested to her Jon Hamm and I totally see that one. A lot of people are casting your boy David Gandy…
Love the BADASS!
Right now I have boring white on my fingernails. My nails are a mess so I am doing a treatment I got at Sally’s…I am hoping that will work. I usually like darker colors on my nails. Darker colors make me feel like a bad ass! Speaking of bad ass…I just told my brother while I was talking to him that I was a bad ass and he laughed at me and told me bad asses kill spiders which I do not do.
I wish I could go to all of the book weekends that are planned in the next few months… Have fun! Be sure to post lotsof pics of booties for us to put the booty with the name.
And if we were having coffee I would tell you all about the new FX show “The Americans” and tell you it was awesome! Keri Russell and Matther Rhys are in it and it was good! The first episode was this week so if you are interested go watch online so you can watch next week. The Americans are KGB spies undercover in the US as americans set in the 80s.
WHEW! I think I need to start taking notes when I read these coffee dates so I can reply properly!
ok first off, nothing like a brother to keep you in check.
The author sent me those Consequences and Truth as a review request a while ago…I need to dust those things off – I’m guessing after I finish Fantasyland. And I’ve decided to not sweat the DNFs anymore…I don’t like mushrooms, I’ve tried them and I just can’t love them…I’ll eat them if I have to but I’d rather not…many people love mushrooms. I never apologize for not loving mushrooms…in fact, I usually make a pretty serious gaggy face! No more guilt…guilt is silly. Oh, and you had me at Joe Manjello…yes, that’s what I prefer to call that sexy beast of a man. My girl Dirty D actually met him recently on an airplane…their pic together is her profile pic now.
I’ll post tons of pics from the events…booties and all!!
I love Keri Russell – I need to check that series out, thanks for the heads up!
Happy weekend!
If you do check out The Americans because you love Keri Russell, be sure to remember she is NO FELICITY in The Americans.
And if you do dust of those books to review, be sure to line up a fluff read for when you are done.
Lucky Dirty D! I hear he is from Pittsburgh…I often think I need to hit up Pittsburgh more often. lol
Yeah, Dirty D was nowhere near Pittsburgh when she met him, I think Arizona maybe?
Yeah, I’ve been hesitant to start those books because everyone seems to be having such a strong reaction to them – gotta get funny and light at the ready!
I’ll keep the non-Felicity thing in mind when I watch it, thanks for the heads up!
Seriously, don’t hesitate! I just finished Truth! I say they are BOTH 5 STARS!! Fucking PHENOMENAL!! I LOVED them. I cannot believe how much I LOVE the bad guy!
ROFLOL! Joe Manjello…hehehehehee!
I got tired of slowing my roll when typing his name…Manjello flows much easier off the fingers…see what I did there, it’s impossible to talk about that man without it getting sexual!
Well I am late for coffee today. I have got a deadline at work and I have engineers and financial analysts breathing down my neck. They wouldn’t take kindly to me shouting ‘back the fuck off so I can chat with the girls’…go figure?
I pulled an almost all nighter earlier this week reading until 6:00 am. I couldn’t figure out the direction a book was taking and I had to know damn it! I read both of Cassia Leo’s novella series Chase (4 novellas) and Luke (5 novellas) on Wednesday and I am pretty sure I let my kids do whatever the hell they wanted that day. I did not do my homework on the Lisa Renee Jones books. I think I have mentioned before, I try at all costs to avoid reading a trilogy until it is complete. Nothing pisses me off more than a cliffhanger and I have no patience to wait it out. You ALMOST had me reading the M. Leighton books but I dug deep and held out.
Pretty toes, pretty toes, I love my pretty toes! I generally lean towards anything bright, sparkly and pink with a pretty little design on my big toes. I recently started getting the shellac on my fingernails so Lola and I have a standing date every two weeks for a mani/pedi. Lola has me hooked on this dark purple blackish color.
Awe Linnick, you had me at Hawk. I don’t know if I read anything else you wrote after that! He was my favorite in that series, followed closely by Tack. I love the angsty parts in the books because it makes the HEA that much sweeter. I need yelling and screaming with attitude and storming off…I think that is the drama queen in me.
Oh Scandal, your poor ass has been sensationalized across Twitter all week! You poor thing! Consider yourself lucky Lola can’t make it to Orlando!
I was off getting my hair done so it’s okay you let your co-workers off the hook and paid attention to them!
I know…my poor ass…My Guy suggested I leave it here for safe keeping when I travel down to Orlando!! He’s so funny…he said, “you know babe, you’ve never even met these women and they seem awfully focused on your ass…that’s my ass, no one else gets to focus on it, I’m not liking your ass being such a hot topic that much…it’s a great ass” – I love that guy.
And that Hawk scene…so much…much. And Vance and Jules in RC Renegade…when she gets shot at the end and all of the different POVs, god damn that felt like I was watching a movie and it rocked me to my core. Much.
I admire your ability to hold out on a trilogy…this LRJ’s If I Were You thing is killing me…KILLING ME! I’m a nosy bitch, I need to know things…I like my shit tight and all wrapped up that way. Killing me!
Love, love, love you honesty on the DNFs…. your comments make me laugh….
Read The Seduction… Jeezy peeps…. LRJ can write a book!!! Can’t wait to get my hands on The Contract!!!!
Mark seems to be Rebecca’s 1st introduction to the scene and I think Ricco has a lot to do with that/her too – their relationship is firming up pretty quickly…. Can see Mark handing his ladies around – think he’d be up for that without doubt!!
Hoping like mad that Chris doesn’t become involved with Rebecca in later journals….
Was wondering about Josh – can’t help but think he might be involved somewhere along the line later on … just can’t see him just disappearing so easily!!
Still a bit perplexed by the whole Ella & David relationship from IIWY… do wonder if there’s gonna be one of these 6 degrees of seperation there and he’s also involved or is that all just a big coincidence?!?!?
Looking forward to your Ella Frank blog stop. Loved Exquisite… need to make some room on my TBR list for Entice.
Your BADASS nail polish is Da Bomb!! Love a really funky dark nail polish, especially on toes!!
Just finished April M Reign’s new book Dhellia – Did a ARC review and I really enjoyed the story. Previous to that I read the Life & Death of Lily Drake… (got a wee bit frustrated with it mid read but powered through and got happy with it again!!)
On your recommendation I’m just about to start KA’s Wildest Dreams (need to get back and do a 2nd read of the Dream Man books when I’ve got a bit of a book lull going on!!) then I’m nipping on to Heather Killough-Walden’s Vampire & Phantom King to re-read them before the Warlock King comes out on the 14th!!
Hope you have a great weekend lovely!! Look forward to catching up with you next week!! <3
Tracy! I figure posting my DNFs here in the coffee chat softens the blow a little should the author happen upon it – and that way I don’t have to feel so formal with it. Writing those things can feel stiff, and not in a good way!
That LRJ gives me grey hairs…I’m afraid The Contract will probably leave us with more questions than answers!!??!!
Get to Entice – Josh is all kinds of yum. You’ll love it and him! And Shelly is pretty awesome, too…and the Edible tease is totally worth the price of admission!
So looking forward Warlock King – I really enjoy that series
Happy weekend to you, too and enjoy Wildest Dreams…I’m on book 2 now and frankly, I’ve got to get my ass off this computer so I can get back to it – it’s so good but it demands your complete attention!
Smooches!
So I know she’s already mentioned it but if you haven’t read the Immortals After Dark series you’re missing out! They’re fun and I love the characters!
And, if you like PNR with a lot of humor, Shelly Laurenston’s Magnus Pack trilogy and Pride series. Seriously funny shit, you will not be disappointed.
I love Mangus Pack! Shifters are so much better than vamps….
Petra, I need to check out Magnus Pack, especially with both you and Linnik saying so.
And YES!! Immortals After Dark is the best, right?!!? Nix…Nucking Futs Nix is the BEST!!!
I want to be as cool as Nix! And you would love Laurenston. She also writes under a pseudonym G.A. Aiken with the Dragon Kin series. But read the Magnus Pack first and Pride series after. It’s a toss up right now in IAD between Lachlain, Bowen and Cadeon.
Oh Petra, I had that same toss up going on…I eventually settled on Bowen but Lachlain and Cadeon have settled into my heart, too. Nix is…honestly, there aren’t enough cool words to describe Nix…I can’t wait for her to find love…I have some ideas on that one, too – I think we may’ve met him already…
I’ll check out the Magnus Pack soon
Hey there …I know, I know…… I’m late for Friday coffee! Sorry! It seems Tania and I have something in common! Deadlines!!! Our company has a tender closing at 9.30am on Monday morning so all the Is had to be dotted and the Ts crossed! With Hubby away it was my job!
If we were having coffee I would tell you that after work (with tender safely put to bed!) I made my way to the salon for my hair appointment and whilst my colour was ‘brewing’ I also got my nails refilled! (french remember! Colour for the toes went a deep purple this time!) So a full pamper session as Hubby likes to call them. I however do not! Thanks to my Dad I am a (nearly)42yrold woman that is SERIOUSLY grey under all this colour! But SSHHHHHH! dont tell anyone!
I we were having coffee I would tell you that I had to skip reading most of your blurb you posted this morning as I haven’t had the mental capicity spare this week to read LJRs-The Seduction. I will get to it hopefully this weekend!
I would also tell you I have been wandering through yr girls Carmels site and I am almost buzzing with excitment for our home to be finished some I can start ‘playing’! She has so many great ideas!
My girlfriend sent me a text last night telling me that she has bought the Fifty Shade of Grey Board game….WTF! Marketing gone MAD!!!!!! So…..I am booked for a girls night plus cocktails, I will take ‘Cock Sucking Cowboys’ as I am not a hugh cocktail fan. So tell me? Do any of you have or know of this game and do I require any special BDSM skills for it.!!? Im Kinda Scared……. but lookin forward to the accompanying giggles!
Catch ya next week!
Sorry I didn’t get to this earlier Teena, went to a hockey game last night (we have the best seats, we share them with another foursome, they are on the freaking front row just to the left a little of the goal – it’s the only way to watch hockey!!) Anyway, I may’ve had a few too many beers while cheering on my Hurricanes but hey, we won so all’s good, right?!!?
I love the full pamper…I did the mani/pedi on Thursday and then the color refresh and my brows done on Friday…oh, and I got some new make up so I’m all girlie-ed up now!!
Isn’t Carmel the best?!!?! Her ideas are amazing, just simple things that have such a huge impact. I visit her site often just to drool over her kitchen make over – I want her to work her magic on mine. My kitchen is pretty awesome but she just takes it over the top, in a subtle way! Love her!! I’ll tell her you are loving her, too.
I’ve heard about that board game before but I know nothing of it…I’m going to expect a full report, maybe even a review from you once you’ve experienced it!! Just giggle through the scared and drink in your cock sucking cowboy – that’ll make it all good!!
Happy weekend friend!
